We drove all the way up here to check this place out. It was a Sunday so although there was quite a bit of traffic going up, we managed to find this quaint little italian resto in the heart of San Roque, Upper Antipolo. The place was not too big but not too small either. I guess it was a slow Sunday since we were the only ones inside. The waitress gave us the menu and we ordered the Italian Wedding Soup, Chef’s salad, Tiramisu, Quattro Formagio and Spaghetti Bolognese which comes with a free dessert. I also ordered their home brewed iced tea. While we wait for our order, we were given two pieces of bread with vinaigrette dip. It was hot and good. The food was authentic italian and bf and I were so full when we left. The pizza crust was just about right, it’s thin crust and crispy. The spaghetti bolognese was not too oily nor did it lack that flavor. The serving was hefty but I did not share because I came there famished (haha) You can really taste the freshly squeezed tomato in the sauce and i love it. I asked bf about his italian wedding soup and he said it tasted okay. He said that the broth tasted like something he would prepare mixed with sayote and carrots. “It was fine”, he said. However, I did not like the home brewed ice tea. It tasted more like a “salabat” than iced tea, I did not enjoy it at all. The price for such a sumptuous meal is just about right. It won’t put a hole in your pocket but the food sure will fill you up. If will be given another chance, i’d like to try their other dishes. Thank you!
Best Italian resto so far here in Antipolo! Chef is a pinay who worked in Italy.
Food 4. Ambience 3. Price 4. Service 4. Food is very good. We had putanesca and aglio olio and they were properly cooked. Obviously the cook knew how to emulsify the oil based sauce. The pumpkin soup is at par with any five star hotel. Ambience is okay, nice clean and quaint. If there would be for improvement is the pizza which is not the fluffy authentic dough, but still a solid 4 on taste.
If you’re looking for a homy place where you can read a book and eat delicious food, better check this out. I ordered Aglio Olio and Pizza Margherita and boy I didn’t even notice I finish it all while reading. Will difinitely be my hang out place.
