Rick's On Second - Antioch

Overpriced and not a traditional deli. They use store bought lunch meat like Oscar Meyer. Nothing is very fresh or homemade. The only thing that seems homeade and is recommended is the chicken salad, and that's why we went there in the first place. Did we like the chicken salad? Couldn't tell ya because they were all out. YOU SHOULD NEVER RUN-OUT OF YOUR #1 BEST SELLING ITEM, RIGHT? Had the pretend-to-be-griiled- chicken sandwich, which was neither grilled or tasted like real chicken. Was really disgusting. Better off making your own fresh sandwich at home.

So Happy we found this amazing spot on Yelp while visiting the Oakley area. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich on croissant with Swiss and mustard and it was Devine. The chicken salad is so tasty with the perfect amount of sweetness you look for in a chicken salad. Nice chunks of chicken, juicy craisins and fresh onions. It was so good we came back a second time and plan to visit again soon!

We noticed the high quality of the sandwiches and soups went out the door with the old owner. Too bad because we really tried to give it a go with the new owner.The new owner is really nice and we do like everyone who works there and wish them the best of luck, wish they would put more effort into the quality of food and maybe we would return. Get the old owner back to try the food and get some hints.
