Staff is always happy to see us and usually know what we want before we do. Thank you for all your hard work Raphael and Allie Medina and the Cocina Medina Staff
Worst dining experience in a very long time. Two of our party of seven arrived 10 minutes early, asked for a table and they were told they would not seat them until all seven were there. Now it was 3:50 and two tables of the entire restaurant were being used. After arriving I apologized to a server about getting anyone into trouble, as another server explained that the hostesses were supposed to follow the instructions no matter what time or the number of empty tables they had. Multiple people in our party felt as we were being lectured and put in our place. I fully understand if it was 5 o 'clock and the restaurant is close to being full restricting seating, but this restaurant has mostly 2 person tables and sliding tables together and apart is basically what they have to do to accommodate the number of people in your party. Sadly after going to Cocina at least 3 times a month it 's clear that we were being put into our place . We will not be going back, as East County has other Mexican restaurants to choose from that seem to value their customers. It was our favorite restaurant, but I guess we will find out soon how good the other restaurants in the area are.
I love this place!! The shrimp burritos and tacos are usually my go to but recently the shrimp has tasted over cooked and bad! The shrimp use to be so good but now it just taste nasty.
This was our go to place but we ordered out today. We ordered the Shrimp Fajitas and told them no cheese on anything, we have a food allergy person here. Second, the Mexican Tostada with chicken, and last the super Burritos. I had never seen shrimp covered in so much paprika and the shrimp taste was still bland. The no cheese, guess what, cheese on the beans. The Mexican Tostada with chicken, well where is the tostada, all we got was the ingredients, also taste was bland. The only thing we could not say was bad was the chips and salsa. Sorry to say the food is totally different from what we are so used to.
The food at Cocina Medina is excellent. I highly recommend. They are very fast, affordable, and the chips and salsa are to die for . The best Mexican restaurant in the area in my opinion.
