Barry Bagels - Ann Arbor

Best bagels in town! Even better is that they're not rock hard the next morning like so many other places. Sandwiches, muffins, soups... so much on their menu. Coffees! Check them out...love the breakfast sandwich myself anytime of day.

I used to absolutely love this restaurant, but my experiences this year have been disappointing. Each time I've visited, my order has been incorrect. The first time, the staff messed up all four of my breakfast bagels, and instead of a refund, the owner offered me two credits for sandwiches. Most recently, I ordered a sandwich and mac and cheese, and the sandwich was missing ingredients, while the mac and cheese was bland and unappetizing. It seems like a toasted bagel isn't even toasted, and the cheese wasn't melted at all. This place has really declined in quality.

They say variety is the spice of life, and Barry's Bagels, situated in one of Ann Arbor’s oldest strip malls, truly offers an impressive selection. The entire strip mall is filled with unique options, making it a delightful destination. Known for their "baker's dozen," the bagels here are a top-notch product. Honestly, this place serves such great bagels that you’d think you were in a New York deli, and I won’t be the one to burst that bubble. Let’s just enjoy the experience! Before asking for extras, take a moment to see what they serve you first. I nearly chuckled when someone asked for extra cream cheese—it seems they may not realize just how generous the portions already are!

Typically, my experiences here are excellent, but today was disappointing. The supervisor in charge of the new staff was quite rude, hurrying me to place my order despite there being no line behind me. She also appeared annoyed throughout the ordering process, insisting that I hold on. Other customers in front of me noticed her rudeness as well. On the bright side, all the other employees were friendly and helpful, and the food was, as always, good.

Fantastic local bagel shop! They offer over a dozen bagel flavors, all made fresh on-site every day. The restaurant is well-staffed for both dine-in and takeout. They serve sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with sides like soup, potato salad, coleslaw, and more.
