Fazoli's - Ankeny

I have higher expectations for the price I paid. The only reason I keep coming back to this restaurant is because it's my daughter's favorite. The meatballs are decent, but the red sauce lacks flavor and needs a generous amount of parmesan to enhance it, even though the parmesan gives the food an odd starchy taste. The service is consistently unreliable and often appears disinterested or annoyed. The atmosphere, like the food, is unremarkable, although there is plenty of seating which is a plus. The breadsticks, usually soft and slightly greasy, were dry and crunchy on both ends, indicating they were either old or overcooked. I would not recommend this restaurant as a dining option. The only reason to come here is if you are in a situation like mine, where someone you care about inexplicably enjoys the food.

Went in about an hour before closing and staff was still as friendly as could be. Food was hot tasty and they over stocked us on bread sticks. Glad this location is still around and doing well.

The service at the restaurant was excellent - friendly and attentive. However, the pasta dishes were not up to par. The Grand Sampler we ordered was missing the lasagna, the chicken Alfredo had no chicken, and the meat sauce on the ravioli was meatless. The breadsticks they gave us had a great flavor but seemed overbaked, as if they had been sitting for a while. On the other hand, the pizzas we ordered, both pepperoni and cheese, were amazing. The fried mozzarella skewers were also fantastic.

This was a good Fazoli's that met our road-trip needs well. Our order was 100% correct and came with a HEAPING pile of complimentary breadsticks! Yum. Conveniently located just a couple minutes off of I-35.

I went to this restaurant with my family at 8pm to grab some food. We stood at the counter for ten minutes while the lady behind it continued to talk on her phone and ignore us completely. She made sure not to make eye contact as she walked back and forth in front of us. There was only one other family dining there that evening. After waiting for 10 minutes with no service, I decided to take my family somewhere else.
