Taberna Do Fado - Angra do Heroísmo

We contacted them ahead of our trip so that we could reserve a space. They were very responsive. We went the first night we arrived. The musicians are amazing!

We had a wonderful time at Taberna do Fado last weekend. The guys running the place are gems, really hospitable. They have sandwiches, charcuterie and a yummy soup. The wines by the bottle were great too, it was fun to try wine from areas we didn’t know about. The music is amazing, they have amazing voices and are so talented on th guitar too. Don’t be surprised if locals come to sing too! A fabulous evening all around. Thank you.

Traditional Portuguese Folk music in a lovely cozy and intimate bar. Light snack food but a good assortment of beverages. Even though we could not speak the language, you could still feel the emotion in the songs. Amazing musicians who truly love what they do. Had we seen this earlier on our trip we surely would have come back at least once more to experience this again. Just GO, you won’t regret it!!

Amazing intimate musical experience. Make sure to reserve a table and get there before the first set. No cover, just a very reasonable minimum charge for food and drinks. €10/15 for local/guest performers. If the door is shut and curtains pulled, please wait outside until the performance is done. Every set is about 20-25 minutes long.

This place is a must if you’re in Terceira. I was there twice in a week and a half! The atmosphere is amazing and I had the best gin and tonic of my life there. I loved it!!!!
