Marx Brothers Cafe - Anchorage

We had an incredible dinner! I ordered the filet, and my husband chose the halibut. Both dishes were outstanding. The owner was warm and welcoming. We definitely plan to return for another special occasion in the future.

This is a fantastic high-end dining experience. The food is outstanding, and the service is both friendly and professional. While the wine list has received accolades, it lacks options in the big, expensive Bordeaux and other Old World wines that I typically enjoy. The prices are on the higher side, so unless you're ready to splurge, I would recommend this place for special occasions. As for parking, like much of downtown, street parking is limited, so be prepared to walk a bit or consider taking an Uber.

Food was overpriced and under seasoned. Door near our table opened to the backyard and was left open. The backyard was a mess and included dirty dishcloths hung on the fence, overgrown weeds, and an abandoned greenhouse full of junk. Kitchen employees constantly ran up and down the stairs bringing up food from another location to the kitchen. All of that is fine just close the door, so I don 't have to look at it while eating a $50 plate of under seasoned food..

Recommend reservations, in this historical house turned into restaurant with fine dinning. The decor is lovely food is amazing. We had the Wagyu ribeye 'it was delicious. The ambience service were great. Highly recommend visiting this establishment for a romantic date night.
