Sushi Sushi - Anchorage

Waited over an hour for absolutely no food. i wish sincerely i could give a better review. not upset at the server (was absolutely sweet and apologized several times) and not upset at the chefs either. i’m disappointed in the management. this restaurant needs more chefs and servers. they all seem extremely overwhelmed, and extremely under staffed.

Great atmosphere to relax. Sarah is very tentative and makes sure you have everything you need if you sit at the bar. The Titanic is delicious.Food: 5/5

Really enjoyed the sushi here. I think I had the samurai, and it was so good I went back and got it again during my short trip to the area. The restaurant is large, clean, and of a certain upscale feeling. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for sushi or even a place to sit and have a beer at their bar.

So unless you want to pay for overpriced sushi and bad service by all means visit. We did have a large group of 23 people but they knew we were coming by reservation. I don’t know if they didn’t prep well enough but it actually seemed like they didn’t care much for the business. No one got their drinks in time including water. They set down some little jugs of water that filled our little cups and never came back to see if we needed more. We ordered alcoholic beverages and wanted more but no one came back to ask us for more. Now I’m not a restaurant owner but I know that alcohol and drinks are a good sell due to the cost. My mother got her food 20 min after everyone else. Service wasn’t that great at all. I expected more service for someone automatically getting 18%. But like I said not good service and overpriced sushi to show off to your friends that you are fancy, go for it.

The food was so-so. The Yakisoba was light on sauce, half of what was brought out to us was no longer hot, etc. The waitress was nice enough but rather than take an extra step to give something to a person further down the table she just expected us to pass things. Not the end of the world and heck I do it at home but.. I don't tip for service at home either. Overall, I would go again if someone else was paying and there wasn't a better Japanese restaurant open.
