Wilson Street Bar and Grill - Ancaster

I went there with a friend on a lunch break from work. I was pleased to realize that it was happy hour with half prize apps. I would not pay more than what I payed for the 2 plates we've got.I had read good reviews for the food there but I was not pleased with what I ate.I would Definitely go for a drink again tho!

I visited this restaurant with my family, looking to try something different in a neighborhood we've been living in for a long time. When we arrived, I didn't know what to expect.

I wanted to try this place again since my last visit was rather anemic. Last time, I thought the food was okay but nothing special. The menu looked interesting so I wanted to give it a second try before drawing a final conclusion.I went with the same companions as the last visit. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. Companion 1 ordered french onion soup and Companion 2 ordered chicken wings.My burger was nothing special at all. In fact, it was obvious that it was a frozen patty and tasted like a burger from Harvey's. The burger came without the cheese or the bacon and the server offered to take it back to kitchen but by that point I just decided to take it as it was. The onion rings were okay but again I sensed that they were just the frozen variety.The french onion soup presentation was bland and uninspired, as was the flavour. My companion was not impressed.The wings were strictly average. Nothing we couldn't have gotten anywhere else. No stand out qualities.In short, this place is strictly average. The service is good but the food isn't.There are too many really good places to spend my hard earned money and we won't be back unless some serious changes are made.Since my visit, I have learned that the restaurant has been sold and is under new management, so hopefully the place will get better. I'll wait before I consider going back.

Two days ago I visited the restaurant and when leaving I dropped my debit card, unknowingly. In the evening, I received a call notifying me that they had found it. The waitress who served me, Riley, proved that honest people still exist and help make businesses better. The owners should be more than happy to have workers such as Riley. Thank you. By the way, the food was great and I will make my way back in the future. Thank you, Don.

We had a dinner at the Wilson Street Bar & Grill on Friday July 21 with our son and his family. We had heard the fish & chips were excellent and that people come from all over to enjoy it. Well they are right , it is excellent and we will definitely be back again. Of course we have a family tie to the restaurant, our Grandson Sam works there but we would still go if he were not working there. The service and cleanliness of the restaurant is excellent. Our son had the wings and said there were delicious. We will be back. V & J C
