The Fighting Burrito - Ames

Yes, there are plenty of reviews on here stateing that the wait times for food delivery are long, and yes, that is sometimes true, but dont hold it against them if you are trying to order a good burrito. Sometimes places are understaffed without notice and who knows when all of a sudden there are 20 orders that pop up online all in different locations. It happens. Heat your burrito up and see it how it is: a fast food burrito. (Btw, there have been plenty of times ive enjoyed a good burrito straight out of the fridge)

The burritos, the rice krispies, the chips, omg it's all great. I can't wait for my next trip.

It is just so evident that everything I am eating is so fresh! All meats are cooked in house, (the green chile pork is to DIE FOR) and they even have an amazing vegetarian meat substitute, Rizo! Employees are always friendly and quick! Definitely one of my favorite places for quick, delicious food in Ames and Des Moines.

I returned to the Fighting Burrito, hadnt been there since it was the Flying Burrito on Lincolnway. Pretty Good burrito, I tried the Crazy Horse burrito. I liked the spicy corn salsa, and Mad Jacksons Peach Punishment Hot Sauce which come with it, not too hot but still hot though, twice the rice, great price at $6.80. Free Wifi, no bike racks, clean restroom, plenty of seating, indoor and out... One difference between 'big chain burrito shops ' and the authentic local guys is with authentic guys, the rice n beans go outside the tortilla, and the burrito is filled with meat, something to think on... delivery is $1.75 west of duff, and south of 13th to Somerset, $5.00 east and north of all that

I go to fighting burrito quite often but mostly I order online because they deliver so late, which is a huge plus! Sometimes their delivery time is a little on the longer side, but it's a popular place so during busy hours it's understandable. The only thing I wish they did do is mix the ingredients in their burritos. Other than that a great place to eat, lot of food for the price!
