La Tosca - Ames

We came here for late lunch, party of 5, not too bad of a wait for a table. From there everything went downhill. It took over 10 minutes to get menus, then another 10 minutes for our server to take our order. I selected this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews and the menu items. Keep in mind they offer different dishes between lunch and dinner, which is fine, but the menu today was significantly limited as compared to what was shown on their website for lunch. Our party ordered grilled bread, breakfast croissant, turkey avocado sandwich, rigatoni, farm vegetable salad and tomato bisque soup. All were simply ok . The soup came after all the entrees were served, presumably because they had to make another pot. But when I got the soup, it was lukewarm at best. I 'll never return.

We enjoyed a variety of appetizers on the front patio in campustown, Ames. Antipasti and cheese plate were excellent. Great service. Reasonable prices. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
