Hy-vee - Ames

I really enjoy this Hy-Vee. I’ve been coming to this location since I moved to Iowa, and most of the staff are incredibly nice and friendly. They usually have everything we need, and we really appreciate the gas rewards program. The only cashier I would suggest avoiding is Sue; she often seems irritated and unwelcoming. She can come off as somewhat rude, especially to the baggers, requiring them to replace items that are perfectly fine. However, the majority of the young men at the checkout are very helpful, and we always value that service.

I had an amazing experience with the customer service at this restaurant! I want to specifically mention a couple of standout employees: Christian, who seems to be in college, is always nice, smart, and professional—truly helpful in every way. The other is Max, who might still be in high school and has red hair; he's also very pleasant and professional, always greeting guests with a warm smile. I really hope this Hy-Vee can continue to retain such fantastic staff!

The positive side is that you can experiment with the store brands and if any of them don't meet your expectations, you can report it on their website and receive a voucher or store credit in return, which is a fantastic feature. Groceries are becoming increasingly expensive, so I appreciate the opportunity to try new items without the risk of wasting money if I don't like them.

My favorite aspect of this store is a female latina in the bakery who is so accommodating and helpful. The worst is a customer service at as ff member who always seems put out at all my presence, Implies I've stolen groceries, and tried to insist that I pay for an item I changed my mind about.

Love the meat dept. everyone so helpful always a good selectuon still a good place to shop. They're remodeling so patience is needed. Everyone working hard but will take time to help you find what you need So remodel is done Took a few trips to learn where everything is. So glad the Asian food is still up front. We love the sushi selections.
