Each dish was served with an amazing medley of vegetables including leeks, carrots, pea pods. The mashed and roast potatoes were both perfectly cooked! The cod was flaky and perfectly cooked much better than what is had at a popular steak house earlier this week, in fact the whole meal was far superior and cheaper too! The pork belly skin was deliciously crispy and the pork pull apart juicy and tender, Despite the size of our party (10) there were no errors, delays or issues. Drinks came fast and were very good! The servers were wonderful, efficient and very friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone and hope were able to return ourselves!
Gorgeous pub in a gorgeous area. Its an old building covered in vines with a beautiful pub garden and a fair selection of cask ales. For a drink on a Saturday afternoon I'd highly recommend it. However, I went with my girlfriend's family for a meal, and this was where the place fell down. The price wasn't great, £17 for a steak which came with no vegetables or chips. This seems a little steep unless its going to be an excellent steak. It wasn't. Three of us ordered the sirloin steak, all of us asked for medium-rare, all of them arrived fully brown all the way through. I guess the sauce was OK and the herby chips were nice. All in all, I'd recommend it for a drink but not for a meal, pity because as I said, its a gorgeous little place.
Been here many times for a drink. It's a great pub. Low ceilings, dark rooms, open fires, ever changing guest beers, great beer garden. No music and no TV. Set in a beautiful village which is excellent starting and finishing point for many walks. I've never eaten here so can't comment, but the menu looks expensive. Beware though, not open on Sundays.
I have a policy, where practical, that I 'll always pick something I 've never had before on a menu. So Corn Beef Hash it was. I 'm not sure I 've ever had such a filling and delicious meal. Huge portions of delicious 'best of British ' food. I managed to make the mistake of following this with the Cheesecake, which came as an oversized slice. Chocolatey, rich, and an ideal texture, it may be worth getting one to share. The sides are also probably more 1 between 2. Never having been one to complain about portions being too big I 'd say go eat! Excellent pub atmosphere and friendly staff top the food off nicely.
