The flavors missed a little for me. They didn’t quite pull through as expected. That being said, it was good but not amazing. I may need to go again to try other menu options.
We really enjoyed this place. It’s food that feels fancy but is actually affordable and casual. Everything tasted great!
I hate to do this. I 've LOVED K88 for years. They have always been a place for fresh, delicious food. But something has changed. The food is different. It 's not quite as fresh as it used to be.The French fries are definitely not hand cut anymore. They 're frozen. To say they 're hand cut on the menu and offer frozen fries is a bit insulting. The salad I ordered recently was flavorless and watered down. It wasn 't the same Cobb I 've ordered for years. The steak was similar, but they didn 't cut it against the grain, they cut it with the grain. It was tough and chewy.Last of all, prices for all of this downgraded food have gone up.Service was still great. But the food wasn 't. Sad.
The best thing here is the beehive fries. It’s a plate of fries smothered with cheese, sautéed onions, bacon bits, and steak. The tri tip and chicken were cooked nice. The green beans were undercooked and cold. The mashed potatoes were savory and delicious. The two specialty lemonades were nothing too exciting. You order at the register and then find a place to sit like Cubby’s. Overall, the food was good.
This restaurant is another one that makes gourmet food, but with a fast food service. You stand in line, make your order, choose the tip amount before you know if the service is good, and then you pay. I don't disagree with the model, you get high quality food at a lower price. Atmosphere is like a fast food place, food is like a gourmet restaurant.
