When I approached the register to pay, I started speaking Spanish to the owner and asked him how much the pan dulce items were—was it four for a dollar or five for a dollar? He gave me a surprised look, as if he thought I was joking, chuckled, and clarified that they were actually $1 each. I quickly explained that I was from out of state, and he was very understanding and didn't take offense. In hindsight, it makes sense; this might be the only panaderia in the area for many miles, and with such scarcity comes higher prices. The food here is outstanding! The burritos are unbeatable, though the carne asada might come close. Did I mention how excellent the food is?
We visited this restaurant to see some friends who happened to live near a local Mexican panadería. In fact, this is the first panadería I've come across in Idaho.
