Knickerbocker Tavern - Altoona

This is a trendy bar that offers above-average food. While it may be a bit overpriced, the dishes are consistently delicious. Housed in a 120-year-old building, it exudes a charming, nostalgic atmosphere. I grew up just a few blocks away from Knickerbockers. I fondly recall visiting Badway's penny candy store to grab an ice-cold soda and ten gummy fish for just a quarter! Ah, the early 1980s!

The food is absolutely delicious! The pub has a charming atmosphere with an open dining area (we opted to sit inside). The crab dip is fantastic, and my wife's favorite dish is the fish and chips.

Excellent menu and good food. However it takes a good long time for orders to come out of the kitchen. The server was pleasant, intelligent, and attentive. I knocked down service a couple of stars because the kitchen is too damn slow. The Kourtyard is a special place. Loved it.

Absolutely love this place. Superb food. Super beer and bourbon selection. Staff is great.

Who reviews this place? How did they get an over 4 rating. Stacked BLT for $17. Two pieces of wonder bread and two slices of bacon. Overpriced, run of the mill food. Better of going to Burger King. Service wasn't very good either. It doesn't bother me that it was a $17 sandwich, but when you read the description of the sandwich, your expecting something that you can't make at home in 5 minutes. This guy ought to eat his own food.
