Don Patron Altoona

I visited the restaurant with my husband for lunch yesterday. We placed our order, and the food was served in under five minutes. That should have been a red flag for the lack of freshness. Since that lunch, I've been feeling nauseous and unwell. Next time, I'll stick to Casa Valdez like I usually do.

The food was absolutely delicious, and we were welcomed at the door with a warm and vibrant personality, which is a rarity these days. Our meals came out quickly after we ordered, and the sweet tea was excellent too. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!

The waitress is truly attentive and anticipates our needs before we even have to ask. The food is fantastic! I really enjoy the salsa they serve with the homemade chips. These chips are not the kind you find in a bag, which is a definite plus for me.

As for the food, it was just average. The queso fundido appetizer was the highlight, but the carne asada tacos were overcooked. The mixed fajitas were decent, but the special burrito missed the mark completely. The margarita on the rocks was incredibly weak and lacking flavor. Lastly, the service was disappointing—indifferent and slow. Given the multitude of other options near I-99 in Altoona and State College, I wouldn't choose to return to Don Patron.

This restaurant really needs a road sign for visitors; it was difficult to locate. I ended up going to Chick-Fil-A instead.
