Pop's Clam Shell - Alton Bay

Pop?s is so much food and service! They have indoor food with AC in the main floor and a deck above it. Over the road is Alton bay, where we sit on a picnic table and watch the boat in the bay! I recommend Pop?s Clam She?ll.

A treasure. I worked here in the late 70s it really didn't change much (which is a good thing). The original owners (the Andrews) built the store on high-quality food. The current owner (son I had worked for) seems to continue this tradition. They had a bad rap for high prices, but it is really not exaggerated all things looked at. With the changes in ownership and menu at Sawyer, Pop's is back up in the region of the lake.

I have traveled up and down the east coast and have had my fair share of fried clams from many restaurants and clam shacks alone the way. When I was young, digging for clams was one the most enjoyable adventures I had growing up at Hampton Beach NH so take it from someone who knows his clams. Pops is without question the best fried clams I have every had the pleasure to consume. The batter is light and airy like nothing I have ever experienced with very little seasoning. I quite honestly don?t know how they do it. But the bottom line is visit Pop?s and you?ll not regret it!!

Drove one hour outside, kayaked then came here at 3:00 and was said there closed, but website says open until 8:00. turn around and they still serve customers I just wanted some clams and a drink! In this heat I would have been happy with a drink, but I said they were closed for an hour so I would have to wait! Bad customer service a drink requires little to no trouble and they wouldn't even let me order one!!! Never!

Everything was absolutely brilliant? You won't be unhappy if you try. We had seafood plates and where better than what you get right on the beaches? Fish restaurants in Hampton or Seabrook New Hampshire. Will definitely recommend and return? Thank you. Dave, the beautiful work
