The Crooked Spoon - Alton

We dined in the evening after making a reservation in advance. There was a slight wait before we received the menu, but the restaurant wasn’t too busy when we arrived and closed soon after. The ordering process involves a real person taking your order at the table, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The menu offered a good variety of options and was reasonably priced for a restaurant in the park. Our food arrived quickly and tasted just as good as it looked. The burger was juicy, not dry, and the steak was delicious. The dishes were served warm, but not excessively hot. Desserts are listed on a separate menu, which features a nice selection. Our favorite was the Crooked Mess. We enjoyed a total of four adult meals, soft drinks, and three desserts, all for just under £100.

Despite some issues with booking a table and a few unexpected cancellations, dining here was the best experience among all the restaurants in Alton Towers. The food quality was surprisingly excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. I wouldn’t choose to eat anywhere else in the park.

There's a brilliant selection for breakfasts, full english breakfast, cereals, fruit, toast, pastries and pancakes. Also a good selection of drinks aswell, apple juice, orange juice, Tea and coffee.The staff are really helpful. Friendly atmosphere.

I enjoyed a great breakfast buffet that offered a wide variety of dishes. From chalk to sausages, you could assemble a hearty full English breakfast plate and more, courtesy of the Crooked Spoon. Guests also had the option to choose from cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt, and pancakes, all accompanied by fresh orange or apple juice, tea, coffee, or milk. However, I had a disappointing experience with the room service. We ordered pizzas to our lodge on Wednesday, October 24, 2022, and they were far from properly cooked. Instead of being baked, they seemed to have been microwaved, leaving the dough raw and the cheese swimming in oil—altogether inedible.

Whether it's breakfast or dinner, this place is just great. the workers are so beautiful and helpful, and a short scream for val and james, both had a nice chat with us and let us smile. eating is excellent, and the portions are really generous. everyone here is stellar and a joy to be here. at the end, for starters, pornstars and extras it was £53, which is quite standard for most restaurants. when they add in brilliant service, it is an absolute steal. a wonderful addition to a wonderful journey away. Go on super, young!
