La Sierra - Alto

So never had a burrito that was nothing but ground beef rolled up in a tortilla, that's it. The rice and beans had absolutely no flavor. Enchilada was worse than what comes in a tv dinner. In fact save your money and go get a couple Patio tv dinners. On the plus side the young waitress was very pleasant.

Came here on a Saturday night during the summer. We were literally the only two people here. I thought it was a bad sign, but it wasn't. The food was amazing. We ordered queso and it was so unique. It was pulled beef with melted cheese on top. So good. I had the fajitas and they were good. I really like this place. Also, they have a pretty decent beer selection for a Mexican food restaurant.

La Sierra is one of those restaurants that everyone forgets about because it's so out of the way of where the action is in Ruidoso. The decor is leftover from The Inncredible, but that's not really a deal breaker for me. We usually sit out where there are big, murky bay windows and let the sun hit our backs while we eat. The food is great. I have my two never-fails which are both the shrimp cocktail or the red cheese enchiladas. Both are hearty servings. The wait staff is very, very good and friendly, don't hover too much, and are attentive when you need refills, etc. Prices are comparable to anything else in Ruidoso (so think around $10-15 for your plate).

Tried their food for the 1st time in 4 years living in Ruidoso and being hungry and pregnant I tried their sour cream enchiladas. I tried to take a bite, the tortilla was hard and there was hardly any meat. There was zero flavor and I politely told my server and asked to try something else. She told me thats how the flautas come and theyre supposed to look. I told her I ordered the sour cream enchiladas..... So I ordered the beef enchiladas and zero flavor again. Im no cook but I have had better food elsewhere. I took 3 bites and asked my bf to try it so im not trippin. He made a face as well. I told the server im sorry but this is not to my liking and had a few bites. She said I still had to pay for it. I told her w force that I wasnt paying for it and apologized. She went away pissed off and charged my bf for his meal. I told her I know it wasnt your fault the food just didnt have any flavor and she replied with, im just a server. I asked why my bfs meal was 18.00 he only had 3 small tortillas and not even a full soda, she explained but in a rude manner. NEVER AGAIN with this place and can see why they always have an empty parking lot.

Good service, horrible food! If my son didnt like it, I would never eart here! It's DISGUSTING!
