Gasthaus Adler Da Pasquale - Altishofen

Located in the heart of the town. Too exoensive in relation to the food it offer. CHF 39 for 2 beers, roesti and one schnaps.

I took my brother coming from Canada for a tour in Stein am Rhein. The restaurant was quite busy, but the waiters did their best to be efficient. It took time for the rösti, the specialties of the chef. But it was worth to enjoy them, tasty and fresh, prepared in many different ways.

The food was quite tasty, and would have rated four stars save for the slowness of the service. The staff just didn't seem to care. Oh well....

Die zwei Punkte gebe ich für die einwandfreie Bedienung und die großartige Lage. Wir haben verschiedene Rösti bestellt und hatten den Eindruck, dass sie nicht frisch zubereitet waren. Stattdessen sahen sie aus wie aufgewärmte Fertigprodukte aus dem Großhandel, und so schmeckten sie auch. Aus unserer Sicht handelt es sich um eine überteuerte Kantine und nicht um ein Restaurant. Aber Geschmack ist und bleibt eine persönliche Angelegenheit.

Toller Ort mit einer schönen Atmosphäre und köstlichem Essen.
