Athos - Altefaehr

We enjoyed two good dishes here. Both sovlaki and bifsteki were tasteful and nice. Reasonable prices and a small ouzo on the house made it a nice evening.

My family and I went in the beginning of January to Athos for an evening meal since we were visiting Germany and there is no Greek restaurant anywhere where we live. It was as always very good. The ambience definetly Mediterranean and the food delicious as we remembered. Last time that we were there was 7 years ago and it didn't slip up the slightest. The restaurant itself is nestled in the forest of Altefähr which is on the beach of the River Sund. Very idyllic view a good chance for a stroll on the beach with a magnificent view upon the mainland. I can only advise everybody to go there see for themselves.

I have been here on numerous occasions &the food was always exceptional.Very friendly staff makes you feel special and homey.Whenever I visit Germany and the beautiful Island of Ruegen I try to dine there.The restaurant is located in the forest in Altefaehr which is also near the beach (80 m tops) You can park in front but I would always advise to walk there or at least have a walk through the forest after your meal and end the evening on the beach with a look over the river!
