We ordered Margherita Pizza and 3 pasta dishes of the following: Spaghettini Con Anatra (homemade spaghettini with ducks Ragu sauce), Spaghetti Alla Carbonara Romana (spaghetti with pork bakery) Fetuccine Al Funghi (hand cut egg noodles w/ Portobella porcini mushrooms). I was glad my friends and I shared all pasta dishes to try out a few bites of everyone. I love her pasta hand being made. Each pasta is also al dente (small company). The duck ragu Pasta dish was quite light in taste, but still tasteful with the duck. The mushrooms were juicy and fresh and the egg noodles were wonderful. The Carbonara dish was quite rich and creamy in taste, but its crispy bacon and tasty flavor balanced out the richness of the cheese. The pizza was also delicious with the thin crust and the wood fire. It was juicy of tomato cheese. The Pesto sauce was also a nice additional touch to the pizza. I tried her nectarin-kissle moons for Gelato this time. Nectarin tasted like the fruit and it was refreshing. The almond was pretty crazy. I also recommend her Focaccia bread and pistachio angelato. I was sad that they didn't have a pistachio angelato this time, because I usually got it when I visited Bulgarini in recent times. As someone who loves pistachios, her pistachio angelato is one of the best I tasted in LA.
Just a piece of heaven. It's like Italy at your doorstep. Food with love and passion. Nothing more. No bs.. no fillers. nothing toxic.. just pure goodness! For Dessert make sure you have its AMAZING Gelato. I promise you... you never had that good. Leo is amazing and treats everyone like family! Best experience ever! Viva Bulgarini.. especially if you get 2 Bulgarians!!!
Very likely the only restaurant of quality in Altadena, which unfortunately it is quite busy and dramatically slow down the service. Luckily it has a great ambience to create it. Unbelievable pasta and wine. And the Foccaciabrot! My God, incomparable.
Fantastic gelato and cannolis! This place is a hidden gem and an absolutely superb culinary treat. This was our first time here and we will certainly be back again and again. The fresh peach (seasonal) sorbet was the best I’ve ever tasted and the cannolis were as good as Mike’s or Modern in Boston. If you order a gelato, go for the medium. It is only a slightly higher cost, but you’ll get much more gelato. The prices may seem high, but you get what you pay for and the high quality is worth the cost. Without exaggeration, this was the best gelato I’ve had in California.
Dinner here was an amazing and unexpected discovery! It was as though a restaurant from Italy had dropped into an unassuming strip mall. We were seated outside on a warm summer evening, though heat lamps are available for cooler times. We started with the light, crisp focaccia and a savory ribollita. We then had a variety of pasta dishes, including a light duck ragu and a rich carbonara. The pasta was fresh and had a great texture, again reminiscent of Italy. Finally, we finished with an assortment of gelato. There's a small but friendly staff running the whole operation out of limited space, but the quality was wonderful!
