Swen's - Alta

Awful. We're hotel guests, Rachel from the front desk made a reservation for our family at 845. Our children and us stood at the hostess stand until now 909pm. They stated they staffed only 1 server on a Saturday night. We left and went to snowbird toeat. Reconsider before making reservations or meal plans here.

Swen's was wonderful to accommodate us and sat us immediately after we got fed up waiting over an hour to eat down the road at Snowbird. The dinner and service was phenomenal; Joe offered great recommendations on the menu and friendly, welcoming service.Happy to enjoy a tasty dinner with a lovely vibe, and can't wait to return! The two stars are for the view. The salmon was dry and over cooked, the salad (grilled peach and arugula with honey dressing) had zero flavor and there were total of about a tablespoon of mushy peaches on the salad. My husband had the steak which was agiant pile of fries and the tiniest overcooked steak- we asked for medium and it was over well done. The servers were polite andkind. The food did not match the atmosphere or price point.

Made a reservation on line for outdoor seating. On arrival was told there was a problem with outdoor seating, although there were 2 other tables seated outdoors. They did make the accommodation. Food was fine. Service was all over the place. Dessertserved without eating utensils. Bread plates brought after bread was eaten? Lots of employees without anything to do but dirtytables for hours.

After a super fun day spring cross country skiing at Alta, we had a drink at the Snow Pine hotel at the bar the Gulch and then had an early dinner at Swen?s. Loved the view, service and food was incredible! This is one of my new favorites. Everybody yougotta come up the canyon and get here! You won?t be disappointed. We had the pork chop, mountain trout and roasted carrots aswell as the winter kale salad. Unbelievable!
