California Pizza Kitchen - Alpharetta

I stopped by for a quick lunch and had an excellent experience. Our server, Danny, was friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and avocado rolls, both of which were delicious.

The food was excellent, but the service still needs some improvement. We had dinner here with friends after watching a movie, and it's one of their favorite restaurant chains. This location has had significant staffing challenges since the pandemic, and while we thought things had improved, it seems that’s not entirely the case. Our server was lovely and friendly, but she was new and seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables she had to manage. The food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner, but we ended up waiting a long time for drink refills after we ran out. Additionally, our checks weren't split correctly, which took another 10 minutes to resolve. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, and I hope they can work through these service issues.

The hostess was not welcoming, seems like she was having a bad day. Our server Kayla was great, food was good, drinks on point.

The food was extremely disappointing. The waitress seemed completely disinterested in serving us and was more focused on chatting rather than attending to our needs. We ordered drinks, two appetizers, an entrée, and a kids' meal, and none of them were satisfactory. They also didn't offer us any bread, even though they were aware that our food would take a while, while I noticed that other tables were receiving complimentary bread. The wait for our food was excessively long. The kids' pizza was particularly unappetizing; it was like a piece of cardboard topped with a bit of cheese and was very hard.

The restaurant looks great and our server was pleasant though our food was not up to CPK's usual standard. Fortunately, the Berry Sangria was wonderful.
