The lunch buffet is quite expensive and it is not filled with food, but it has the foundations that are well made and will easily beat the other Chinese restaurants in the city.
My favorite. I moved out of Alpena two years ago, and when my mother comes to visit me, I always bring her from there, especially her Egg Drop Soup. It's FANTASTIC. No, it can't be that (sufficient) thick yellow soup, but it's so disgusting; and feels more for me, as Egg Drop should be. They have large portions for their meals, and the prices are perfect. I didn't find a place to beat them.
The best in town. Best Chinese and only Thai in town. Would recommend your Thai menu over everything as long as you can afford a little hot spices. Chicken Pad Ped (Thai item) is the popular menu item, with Thai Spicy Chicken Fried Rice as close second. Beef Teriyaki and Crab Wonton are excellent and they make egg drops better than traditional (it has cabbage, carrot pieces, and has less food coloring and until I can say no maize syrup tastes more like homemade soup, but is still delicious icy). I have to try something else on the menu I didn't like. The only torment I have is that I can not eat there often because I have a penny pincher and the menu is a little pricy for me, and sometimes the buffet will stale (but they will always update when you ask). Great restaurant!
Buffet arts. Order the menu to get fresh food to delish. Meal for three was $28 and could have fed four.
Chee Peng Alpena Great!!!. We food here is amazing, one of the best. I have traveled the entire US, and this food ranks as one of the top 5 in the country.
