The Tavern Steakhouse - Alnwick

The Market Tavern Restaurant is a fantastic establishment. It's not only dog-friendly, but the staff are incredibly welcoming and treat you like family, providing excellent service. There are plenty of options on the menu, and each dish is presented beautifully and tastes amazing. The portion sizes are more than generous, offering great value for your money; I've enjoyed every bite and left feeling completely satisfied. Now that I'm so full, I couldn't resist ordering dessert to explore the menu further, and it definitely lived up to the hype – truly delightful!

What a fantastic restaurant! We stumbled upon it while exploring the city and were impressed by both the menu and the prices. After checking the reviews, we hurried back to our accommodation to make a reservation, and it turned out we got the last available table—what a stroke of luck! I ordered the slow-cooked beef, my partner had the trio of sausages, and our vegan daughter enjoyed the flower wings with a side of fries. I also ordered a basket of warm bread, thinking the portions might be small given the prices, but I was completely wrong! We ended up pleasantly full. The staff and service were excellent, and we’ve already booked another visit before heading home.

During my first visit to the restaurant, I enjoyed a 10oz steak with pepper sauce and fries, while my partner opted for the loaded mushrooms with goat cheese. The main course was excellent and bursting with flavor. I indulged in sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert, which was also delicious—the saying really rings true; the proof is definitely in the pudding. If you're looking for a place to dine, you must check out this restaurant. The staff was polite and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. The location is fantastic—centrally located and easy to find. I would certainly return to try more dishes, as there were so many tempting options on the menu that I couldn't sample them all!

Welcome to the personal. very attentive. the Sunday menu was somewhat limited if they don't want Sunday, but the food we had was nice. very reasonable prices. decor comfortable and clean

Busy but they managed to find a table for me. Service was excellent and the Northumbria shepherds pie was absolutely superb. The kipper pate as a starter was also very tasty. Very reasonable price including my glass of wine
