We are so glad we did because it was so much more than that. Charming, quaint and friendly come to mind. The owner is a hoot and her staff is very friendly and efficient. Their fare is world class. We enjoyed fresh, handmade quiche, soup, salad, pie & cake. My wife enjoyed the famous butterscotch pie with 20 inch high meringue (slight exaggeration) and I had THE BEST piece of carrot cake on EARTH (no exaggeration). While dining we took up a conversation with a local couple who offered to give us a tour of the town. They even took us into their home for cocktails and great conversation. Typical friendly Canadians and a great day on our vacation.
Super cozy tea room, love the atmosphere. The food was very fresh and delicious. Butterscotch pie was a do not miss!
This lovely little tea shop has the most delightful environment. Tables are cozy and welcoming, china is delicate and lovely, and the food is delicious. My Dad had a quiche and soup plate while I enjoyed an egg salad and soup. For dessert I had a date square. The coffee was robust which is to my liking but perhaps not everyone's, however, even being powerful it wasn't at all bitter.Overall, a pleasant experience.
Visiting from Vancouver, my brother and wife decided to treat us to afternoon tea at the Robin's Nest in Almonte. What a wonderful experience. The food was so scrumptious and the desserts to die for (butterscotch pie with mile high meringue and warm sticky toffee pudding - a must). I have been to many tea houses in Canada and abroad (England specifically) and found this one to be even better. We loved the ambience and the friendliness of the owner. Even though she was extremely busy, she still had time to stop by our table at chat with us. A very cozy place. The poppyseed salad dressing we had on our salad was absolutely delicious. Again, very special service as we asked her if she sold the dressing (and she did) so she made a fresh batch for us to take home. I highly recommend visiting the Robin's Nest but do make a reservation as they get quite busy!
I love the Robin's Nest, their food never disappoints nor does the service. The employees along with the food, atmosphere and decor make this a wonderful lunch spot. I love every single item I have ate here (and I have ate a lot) but my favourite is the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yum!
