Monica's Restaurant - Almancil

What a delightful welcoming and wonderful dining experience. Food made from the heart. A family of 9 who managed to wipe their starters and mains plates. From the Beef Wellington to the Surf and Turf, the tastes were full of flavour.

This was our favourite place we visited on our 6 night stay. We came back a second time for our final night. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive, the food is also amazing. Must get a selection of tapas to start, great value. This is...a must visit if you are in the vale de lobos area. The outdoor setting is lovely and very intimate.

A bit of a curates egg this one partly good, and party not so in places! Atmospheric restaurant with attentive staff. The background music was chilled, and helped you relax in the beautiful garden setting. All helped to create a warm welcoming vibe....Difficult to fault very relaxing. The food was a bit of a mixed bag to be honest! The kid's menu was good standard fare with no real comments from the young teenager fair enough! The pork in Madeira and mushroom sauce was cooked well, with strong flavours and good sauce texture. However, one of the two pork fillets seemed rather gristly and ended up on the side of the plate. I opted for the tapas board as my main course choosing three items from the tapas list. Sausage with mustard, fair enough. Pawns in garlic and wine seemed to lack the body of favour I was expecting but okay. The house chilli crispy squid throw me if honest! I wasn't picking up the chilli favour at all, and it came as a mound of very small squid chunks in a rather hard batter coating. Unpleasant. Divided here with this restaurant with its good and bad bits. Placed it into my ‘I don't know box’ to try again on a future return visit.

We eat here every time we have a holiday in vale do lobo. every opportunity, whether in the quirky cozy restaurant or outside in the atmospheric garden, we love the ambiente, service food. the menu has not changed, but offers a lot of delicious homemade dishes that are plentiful, fresh quality. I'm a fan of the tapas star the black medallion pornstar. the wee are also well chosen, the service is personally known. Overall, it is a quality eating experience that does not cheap, offers value-to-value ratio in the quality of food service they receive. this has not decreased in the course of the years, we will continue to return.
