Marisqueira Sotavento - Almada

We had seafood risotto. It was disgusting. Completely tasteless and smelt really bad- I cant say if it wasnt fresh, but the smell was so off putting, we had 2 spoons and couldn't eat it. 50 EUR in the bin.

As it was during the lockdown period we were wary as to restaurants' opening times, but we managed to get a booking at Masqueria Sotavento which was very lucky of us! I ordered half a dozen of oysters and the crab filling for starters (which was delicious), and my partner ordered the catch of the day which was the seabream. It was extremely fresh and we had the options to select from multiple sides. We had such a lovely time and were extremely grateful that Igor and team also squeezed us in for the next evening (which was New Years Eve). They were definitely busy but tried their best to accommodate everyone and not to mention COVID19 proof as all the tables were spaced out, hand sanitizers on each table as well. My partner was abit tired of having seafood and went for the beef steak (which he enjoyed) and I went for the calms, and tiger prawns both also excellent. I noticed most locals in the restaurant went for the platter and were cracking away at the crab or lobsters which we will go for next time. Top quality seafood, amazing service and also great knowledge of local wines. We would definitely be back again ... this time hopefully warmer so we can sit outside and enjoy the views!
