Sonali Takeaway - Allerdale

Carravaning in the area I phoned in my order and was told it would be 30 minutes when I got there only 2 allowed inside. I waited a further 15 minutes then went in to see if my order was ready, no one was at counter, a family man came in and started reading menu, when a guy appeared at counter and put him out then started on me and put me out. First time I have been chucked out of a fast food establishment. Although I found the whole thing a fun experience it might not suit everyone

Chicken balti and chicken sylheti had. Balti good, mine should have been very hot (made with house hot sauce using naga chillis). Not so hot, but very tasty. Portions not crazy filling, but not scrimpy either. Just about right we thought.

The food was authentic and delicious. We tried the chicken balti and chicken sylheti and would recommend both dishes. The garlic naan was smaller than what we're used to, but still very tasty. The portion sizes were good overall. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The main courses and additional items at this restaurant are average in quality, but they are way too expensive considering the establishment only has a hygiene rating of 3. There should be more competition in the town in order to improve the overall dining experience.

My partner and I came across this small takeaway by accident and it turned out to be a fantastic discovery! Despite being from a big city like Edinburgh, Scotland where there are plenty of takeaways to choose from, none of them compare to this one. The food was absolutely delicious!
