Rafferty's Bistro - Allerdale

Maria and her staff went above and beyond at the last minute, making our group feel welcome with tea and sandwiches.

I went to this restaurant for lunch this week and ordered an omelette. It was slightly overcooked, but the majority of it was cooked well and was a decent portion size. However, I was disappointed with the limited menu options, which only included breakfast items, tea cakes, or a Christmas dinner. Despite the restaurant being fairly large, it was empty, which speaks volumes. It seems like they are not willing to put in the extra effort to attract more customers.

The room was tiny, not where you hang clothes. the bathroom was dirty, there was mold in the shower cabin behind the toilet was dirty, they had tried to over dirt no hot water dirty socks under the bed at the front of the bed...Cabinet fell off. we went to cumbria to visit family who were sick and spent a lot of our time in the nursing home and sick house or we had moved to another hotel. we asked to be moved, but nothing happened. we stopped another day, but we came home early because we did not correct this amount at another time.

Stayed just one night in this BB (thankfully) the room I stayed in was tiny, dirty and disheveled but included a noisy and dirty dehumidifier, shower cubicle in the bedroom, and a dirty kettle (see pics, ‘X’ marks the dirty spot!). There was a corner...of the room with a random curtain, presumably an attempt to hide some rubbish decorating or damp?! I wouldn’t recommend this as a BB. At breakfast some of the cutlery was dirty (with what looked like dried up egg yolk), and a teacup had rings/marks of old tea inside it!! So I wouldn’t recommend it as a ‘Bistro’ either!

Breakfast was perfect ! No oil at all !!! :) Customer service ! Thank you for Chef and all staff ! Would recommend to friends and will come back again !!!:)
