Pizzaria Vicentina - Aljezur

My sweet(s) spot and coffee stop over on a regular cycling route when in Algarve. Loved their homemade deliciousnesses... And although this time missed on a tiramissu, the berry cheesecake was a great substitute, no doubt!

Probably the best spot with affordable prices in Aljezur during high season. I was lucky to get a table for lunch because it's very small. I had pork ribs (type of meat I'm always skeptical) with beans, rice and sweet potato (something very typical from here). They gave me a side salad. One of the two daily dishes available . It's not a fancy place and it's advertised has Pizzaria (you can get that as well here). But everything was good and well enough portion. The owner/waiter was very polite and good at his job. Good, familiar and honest place. If I'm back in Aljezur this is my spot.

They have two day specials. One fish one meat. Very cheap and simple but tasteful. Red housewine tasted great. Also the pizza’s looked good. Place is full with locals what is a great sign of course. Service isn’t fantastic but thats not the reason you have to go there, its the food

We wanted to support a local business and try more local cuisine and ordered takeaway from I got a dish of the day: bacalau/cod and a pizza for him. The pizza was ok: deep pan quite cheesy. Seems like it’s a preferred style here. The cod, on the other hand, was not fresh. It stunk really bad and contaminated the remaining parts (boiled egg, chickpeas and veggies) of the dish. The whole box went to the bin. I was really looking forward to a decent protein meal after the day of surfing and this was a great disappointment.
