I came here once a year, whenever I visit Costa Vicentina. I returned in August 2023 and it got worse visibly. The creamy soup? Well runny and tasteless. The bread was cold, the employees no longer explained the starters, the shrimp à Brás had little shrimp and was liquid. Service was rushed. It has become one of the mandatory places in Aljezur or a point of reference on the Costa Vicentina for one not to return to. The outside space is still worth having a drink, but that's it. Várzea did not know how to maintain its level of quality and dropped considerably, unlike prices. So it's not worth it anymore. Third time going and as always good value in Aljezur to eat. Rich dishes, good stews and meats at their point (it is preferable to ask for meat, fish does not work so well for my taste). Quantities and reasonable price. The appetizers are not particularly interesting and almost all the dishes are accompanied by the same small bowl with some kind of green verditas dressing, which is repeated over and over again, which is somewhat boring. The service is friendly but slow, they take a long time to serve, although that is common in the area. The wine list is quite correct and prices are reasonable, although this year I have noticed absences compared to other years. If you indicate that the pressure beer is not very interesting, it is especially expensive and the bill goes up a lot. It's not worth asking for. Despite the small defects, recommended.
