The Black Bear Bistro - Algonquin

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my 80th birthday at the Black Bear Bistro thanks to my son, Scott Zalke. The food was excellent, served perfectly. 12 people were very satisfied. Had a wonderful time. Thank you. Patricia Zalke

Very good restaurant. One of the specialties is wild game. I ordered the kangaroo, antelope, and elk special. Very good. Wife got the fish. She stated it was one of the best she's had in awhile. Good portion sizes. Very intimate setting, make sure you get a reservation as there are not many tables.

Amazing food and great service all around. Chef and his staff did an amazing job for our party.

Black Bear Bistro, was so good. The restaurant certainly had a Mexican flair. We came on a Saturday night with our two young children. The owner was so sweet in dealing with our kids. Bringing them paper and crayons to entertain them. The drinks and service were outstanding, the pace of the meal was great. And the food, fantastic. My wife got the trout which she loved. And I ordered a special, fried whole branzino which was sweet and spicy and so delicious. Would defiantly recommend to anyone.

Located on Main street in the heart of Algonquin's Old Town this Bistro is a Treasure! My wife and I celebrated a Wedding Anniversary there last night. It was a Great Choice. Quite intimate and cozy (I'm guessing 10 tables maybe) we were greeted by the Owner who was lovely and personable; made us feel right at home.
