Very tasty. I had the Reginette with shrimp and mushroom. Reginette con fungi e gamberi very good
Quite frankly it was disappointing. We had lunch there, the food was okay, nothing mind blowing but not bad. We ordered 2 daily menus, which in theory includes also 2 water bottles and 2 additional plates of grilled vegetables. We got one super small salad and one water for both of us. And bread from (at least) yesterday. Anyway. The waitress was nice and it was late (meaning it was after 3pm and almost everything was closed). Our real surprise came when we were charged 4,50€ per person (even our little kid) for just eating there. We have eaten in much fancier places that charged much less. What a disappointment! I don't recommend it unless you're desperate.
Expensive but not great food. We tried it mainly because it's next to the market so the food should be fresh. The swordfish was cold raw, my girlfriend regrets the prawns. There was no hard feelings after requesting a revisit to the kitchen, but they burned the fish steak in the process. Eventually acceptable, but many better places nearby.
We initially came here because our Airbnb included daily breakfast here. I usually prefer to make my own coffee, but we gave it a try and we were very satisfied they even have vegan options (soy milk, vegan croissants . Each day we chatted a bit with Fabiola and her mom, the owners, and they were delightful. We decided to come for lunch...and then for dinner. The food is delicious we had zuppa di cozze (mussels that was out of this world. Eggplant Alghero style is a must. Ditto for spaghetti vongole veraci (clams . My husband, who is Italian, was also very impressed (which is not easy! . She does offer the typical tourist dishes because of customer demand (lasagne, etc , but that is not the way to go. The best thing to do is ask her what her specials are that day and go with whatever she is excited about. Also, she made us homemade lemon sorbetto (sorbet right on the spot the best I 've ever had. Her ice cream is great, too! As for the service...I can see why people looking for fast food or a quick bit to eat, etc. would be disappointed. Fabiola likes to get to know her customers. She only has one or two employees so she and her mom are doing pretty much everything. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing meal overlooking one one of Alghero 's historic towers, and if are OK with eating like a local, I would highly recommend this place. If you are in a hurry or looking for pasta dishes that have nothing to do with Alghero (pasta bolognese, carbonara, etc. but constitute today 's globalized on demand Italian food, there are many touristy places in Alghero that will serve you mediocre food much faster. If you want are willing to spend the time on an authentic experience and trust what the owner recommends, then this is your place.
