The Perfect Pita - Alexandria

I dined here twice; the first time, I had pizza, which was good. However, during my visit today, I ordered a steak and chicken pita sandwich for pickup. Once I returned to my office and opened the sandwich, I discovered two small, live gnats inside. It makes me feel nauseous just thinking about it. I will never eat at a place that is dirty and has insects. While the restaurant seemed clean on the surface, I didn't really inspect the kitchen where the food was being prepared. Typically, I check for flies in a restaurant, as cleanliness in food establishments is very important to me.

This is a fantastic spot for a healthy snack, and the prices were reasonable. However, I recently noticed that the prices went up, but the menu hasn't been updated to reflect the new rates. I ended up paying more at the register than I expected, which left me feeling a bit disappointed. Because of this issue, I have to lower my rating for this place.

The food is enjoyable and reasonably priced. They also offer spinach as an alternative to iceberg lettuce. The pita sandwiches are delicious and well-prepared, with fresh ingredients. The preparation was quick, but it wasn’t very busy when I visited.

I drove four hours to Alexandria for a long errand and asked for a recommendation for a great sandwich. I was directed to this place, and it was DELICIOUS. After enjoying our lunch, we returned to grab more food for our drive home. If I ever have to come back, The Perfect Pita will definitely be a highlight of the trip again!

I had the pita, taking the suggestion of a lovely staff member who assisted me. It was excellent and looked just like the picture (a rarity these days). The veggies were fresh and cold, the meat was hot, and everything was very flavorful. My meal was served quickly, even though I visited during a quieter time. The homemade hummus was fantastic as well. The place was very clean on top of everything. It deserves a straightforward 5-star rating from me.
