We were traveling and decided to stop at this cozy restaurant with reasonable reviews and a great location. When we arrived with our group of 9, the staff seemed surprised but welcomed us warmly.

The seafood at this restaurant was excellent, with the standout dish being the trout. My friend mentioned that he had a different crepe on a previous visit that was even better than the one we had today. Overall, we had a great dining experience.

The food is good which makes the fact that the service is terrible and the management is dishonest a disappointment. First, they charge a 10% Restaurant Charge , which is just a way to increase prices but not show it on the menu. Second, they count infants towards your party size, so they can get you to 6 people and charge you the 20% gratuity. Which is especially frustrating because the service was so terrible when we were here, they would have been given a lot less than

What a perfect combination; a charming old world French Cafe in the heart of Old Town Alexandria! Sitting on the brick sidewalk at bistro tables, enjoying crepes, quiche, coffee and conversation. This is the good life! Everything we had was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. Thank you Kali! Thank you Fontaine Caffe.
