Del Ray Pizzeria - Alexandria

I've eaten here twice and the first time was prepandemic but the second time was today and the food was terrible obviously they're understaffed the bartender was great however my pizza was super wet and soggy and undercooked. Definitely not worth $17.00. :

DRP is a beloved establishment in Del Ray/Alexandria for good reason. This iconic family-friendly restaurant has been a staple for countless family dinners, lunch outings, date nights, celebrations, and special occasions for our family. The bar offers a great rotating selection of drinks and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The seasonal menu never fails to surprise with new offerings, while the favorites like perfectly fried pickles and homemade potato chips are always on point. It's a must-visit spot in Del Ray, up there with Dairy Godmother!

The pizza at this restaurant is amazing and they have a variety of toppings to choose from. The deep dish option isn't exactly deep dish, but more like a thicker crust with extra toppings. The hot sauce on the table is extremely spicy, but somehow addicting. The bartenders are friendly and will assist you in selecting a good beer.

I have been to this restaurant three times already, and we have enjoyed all the pizzas we have ordered each time. During my most recent visit, I accidentally left my glasses on the table after dinner. The server went out of their way to return them to me, walking almost a block to do so. I really appreciated their thoughtful gesture.

This is an excellent neighborhood spot with a wide variety of rotating beer selections. They offer personal pizzas, including gluten-free options, with many specialty toppings to choose from. It appears that the main sandwich options no longer come with sides, but the portion sizes are generous.
