Foi uma oportunidade muito feliz de tropeçar na taberna areal. excelente comida, espaço e ambiente muito agradável, e dois dedos de conversa muito amigável. Obrigado pela experiência que nos forneceu e pela forma como nos recebeu em sua casa. para repetir!

We stopped at Taberna Do Areal by chance...and we 're not sorry we did. We had ovos rotos for starters and they were really good. It is a simple dish, with basic products (eggs, potatoes, ... but really tasty. For the main course we had steak en pork and both were outstanding. Again, simple tastes, but really nice to eat and very enjoyable. It was also nice to have the owners talk us through the menu (either in English or Spanish , because we don 't speak Portuguese. And they were very friendly, we had a great chat. A thing worth mentioning: they have awesome wines! If you are in a 25 km radius of this place, please consider the short drive...it 's worth the detour.

Me and my wife were staying in Alenquer and we decided to go to this restaurant because it was mentioned on tripadvisor and we were closeby. What a wonderfull experience we had... You enter the restaurant and come to the counter. There you choose what you want to eat from the grill, dorade fish, sardines, steak, ribs or whatever there was on the market that day. Than you can take your seat and chose a starter (if you want to). As a starter I have to recommande the ovos rôtos. A dish with Jamon iberico and eggs with an incredible taste ! It was so good we went back 3 times. The dorade, sardines and steak we had were great. Also, they have a large selection of locoal wines at very good prices. They have a terrace and it's being loved by the locals too. Luckily they spoke good English and Spanish. I want to say thank you for the great experience, excellent food. This was one of the best meals we ever had. Truly. Obrigado.

Taberna do Areal is a cosy restaurant that you must visit in Portugal. The ambiance is fabulous. Traditional dishes like torricado de bacalao and bife at Taberna are simple delicious!! ovos rotos are one of my favourite tapas but at Taberna it 's much better! And we had 2 portuguese wines (one white and one red) that are forever on our memory. Lagar Novo and Chocapalha are the winemakers I´ve registred on my moleskin.
