Schonblick - Aldino

Quelle belle découverte pour terminer nos 2 jours à Aldino! Nous avons mangé ici le dernier soir (nous dormions pas loin), dans le jardin à l'arrière. Très belle terrasse, repas délicieux (tagliatta di manzo et pâtes pour les enfants), personnel super aimable!! Si nous devions passer par la région, nous ferions le détour pour venir manger ici. Merci pour ce merveilleux moment. Je recommande!

A colleague and I were recently disappointed with a visit for lunch at Schonblick. We spent the morning exploring the scenic mountain roads at this high elevation. Stunning views from everywhere you look so we anticipated enjoying some hearty, local cuisine. We entered Schonblick through the small bar area and were shown to a tiny dining room located off to the left side. There was another door with a restaurant sign, but it was closed and apparently not serving lunch. The dining room had only three tables and we were the only diners. The waitress spoke good Italian and described what was on the menu. What a disappointment to learn of the meager offerings that included lasagna, pasta with a meat sauce, a veal roast, a hamburger or a steak. That's all! There was no printed menu. I ordered the lasagna, which apparently had been made a few days ago and warmed in the microwave oven just before serving. The portion was very generous, though the flavor was unremarkable. I ordered a salad which I noticed the waitress took from one of the other tables! My colleague ordered the hamburger which was simply a grilled patty of ground beef/pork, platted with a portion of roast potatoes. No bun, no accompaniments such as a piece of lettuce or tomato. Our meal, plus two half liters of bottled water and an espresso totaled 22.00 Euro. After exiting the restaurant, I snapped a photo of the exterior to post with this review. The owner/chef came outside and asked in German why I took a photo of his restaurant. I explained that we had just eaten lunch at Schonblick. Oddly, this man was dressed in very a proper and full chef uniform, which didn't fit the quality of food he produced. Obviously, I have no plans to return to Schonblick.
