Casa Velha - Alcoutim

Although this is one of the very few places where you can still find freshly caught fish from the sea in the Algarve, the great quality of the food does not make up for the poor customer experience. Even though we had a reservation, the restaurant was still not open when we got there (on time). There were a lot of customers who also had reservations still waiting outside. Once the doors were finally opened, everyone tried to go in at once which made for a messy experience. We tried to request a different table to the one we were assigned and were rudely informed by the waiter that we had no option but to sit at our assigned table. Once we were seated, a waitress came to our table and said that we should order quickly or otherwise the kitchen would be flooded with orders and it would take a long time to serve us. The waiters made us feel constantly rushed. The restaurant's terrace overviews a dusty parking lot, which means that every time a car is moved a dust cloud sweeps over the whole space, which is not an ideal setting. Considering that this is a highly priced restaurant, we expected to get decent customer service.

Four of us booked a table to celebrate my birthday. We were made very welcome and quickly had our water, bread, drinks etc ordered and a small complimentary started was served. We each chose different main course and they arrived quite quickly All dishes were well presented and tasted great. Portions were good, so much that none of us wanted a sweet. We surprisingly each received a complimentary small sweet which was out of this world. Overall another great night at this restaurant and very reasonable prices. Unfortunately we understand they are closing now for the summer but will reopen again in September when we will certainly be back.

Not easy to Park a car in Cacela Velha...but this restaurant, Cacela Velha villa and beach views worth all patient.Great Portuguese sea food, decent price, for sure will come back.

It's fine if u r hungry and ok with whatever is served.

Buffet com bastante variedade, relação preço-qualidade ótima, ambiente tranquilo e staff sempre atento/disponível.
