Don Peixe - Alcochete

The food is so good the locals have to book in advance to eat here.. This restaurant is situated in the fishermans quarter of Alcochete and is renowned for its seafood.

I wanted to take my mother to a nice place in Alcochete and definitely I have done a wonderful choice. I never heard about this place and it was a very nice surprise. It looks like a family business and they treat customers like friends and nowadays it’s essential to make a difference. Good food you can find everywhere but the combination of nice staff and good food in a small village plenty of restaurants is not always easy to found. When you enter you can see the charcoal barbecue, typical Portuguese, with the meat and fish getting done, not mixed, separate so the flavors don’t messed up. On the grill there’s and old gentleman and with him an old lady taking care of the wonderful dishes that we are ready to taste. Outside in the square a balcony waits for you to enjoy your meal with the tranquility of the Alcochete village. So, and to resume, nice staff, fresh fish, nice and tender meat ask my mom) and wonderful environment. You should try it definitely. Michelin guide has recommended twice and that means something. Try it and be surprised.

This is a nice and good restaurant... service very nice. But there was nothing to die for. I think the same of the many other option in town.

Excelent, nice and fast service. Fresh seafood very weel done. Nothing fancy or elaborated. Excelent atmosphere. The best: siting outside on a sunny day.

The restaurant was comfortably busy with English speaking staff on hand. A good choice of fish was available that was well cooked with a nice mixed salad. A very enjoyable meal in a relaxed environment, well worth a visit
