Monica's El Portal - Albuquerque

I recommend dining here instead of the restaurants in Old Town for a fantastic lunch experience. The New Mexico cuisine is deliciously spiced and flavorful. The atmosphere is charming and the service is fast.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! It is family owned and serves delicious New Mexican cuisine in a charming Old Town setting. I ordered the carne adovada with eggs, while my husband had eggs with chorizo, and we both enjoyed some sopapillas. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the carne had just the right amount of heat, and the sopapillas were the best we have ever had in the city.

I recently had some of the best red chili in Albuquerque. It was dark, red, and had a delicious earthy New Mexican flavor.

I highly recommend this fantastic New Mexican restaurant for their delicious breakfast burritos. It's a wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch.

Charging $2.00 for red/green chile (X-Mas) should be a crime as a New Mexican I was surprised by that. Decent food. The staff were super friendly
