Solar Das Presuntas - Albufeira

We had a lovely set menu lunch at only e8 each. Kindly invited by a couple of English expats for Sunday lunch here. It certainly helps if you can speak some Portuguese. Cover, (can't recall if there was a starter), Main, Pudding, Wine and coffee. Excellent quality, quantity, service and value. Please note Tripadvisor map is not accurate location is about 1km further north on road immediately to left just off a roundabout. Doesn't look much from the outside but the food was lovely. Highly recommended

This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant and if you are looking at value for money and excellent quality steak, then look no further. The sirloin steak with beetroots is absolutely stunning and is 10-15 euros cheaper per meal than any other restaurant that we visited. It is a large restaurant that is mainly used by the locals, mainly at weekends. So expect it to be crowded at weekends but very quiet during the week. It is situated away from the tourist areas and so may cost 4-5 euros in a taxi, but the food and drink is so much cheaper than you would pay in town and this will far outweigh the cost of your travel. At the end of the meal we were leaving a 10 euro tip between 6 of us, only for the waiter to inform us that it was far too much to leave and insisting that we take 5 euros back!!!!

L live in Albufeira and can honestly say that l know of no other restaurant in the area that can compete on all the three ingredients necessary for an enjoyable meal. Quality, quantity and value. Solar das Presuntas is definitely one of my favourite restaurant's that is for sure!

Host was rude. Service was poor. Food was unremarkable. Over-rated. With so many great restaurants in Lisbon, I'd definitely pass on this one.
