Pic-nic - Albufeira

Surprisingly Delicate Food in a great setting. Proof that with a filter on rating if you search via Google you risk missing a top establishment. We spent 2 weeks in the area and this is hands down the best place for quality and relaxation. The toastie or pizza great for the kids and the salads or linguini a delicassy. The talented chef and young team know what they are doing. The restaurant is small and a table reservation not always available immediately but your wait will be rewarded. Location, location. Takeout for on the beach is also well organized and popular. The neighbors (west) may be more pretentious and expensive, which attracts another crowd and is also fine, but it also seems that the Portuguese with style prefer PicNic. The access to sea is also better with finer sand and less rocks. Cod-salad is my favourite. Order fries on the side. For improvement; appoint person to manage and clean the bathrooms next door. Many people use the excellent facilities and this does not help to keep it spotless. Charge 50 cents and everyone can be happy.

Having such a bad restaurant in a truly beautiful spot is such a waste. We were invited to come back after half hour with the promise of an outdoors table, which was of course not there. It then took us more than an hour to get our very simple food and the waiters even if they kept gently apologizing forgot some of the items, asking 2 3 times for the same order. The food is average at best and not worth the price. Suggest to visit the beautiful beach and definitively to skip the restaurant.

We stopped in from the beach to have lunch. A half hour after we ordered I checked on my food. We were told they were short handed but will be out soon. The waiter offered some bread and wine which we declined. 40 minutes I asked the waiter and he said soon. I said if it is not out in 5 minutes I am leaving. We both walked to te kitchen and he spoke to the cook. It was obvious by his reaction, that he had not even starting it. I asked for the complaint book which they refused to give me. Not are they disrepectful of your time, they are dishonest. It is a great beach, bring your own lunch!

Fresh and really tasty sea food, good service in a perfect spot, Castelo beach is so beautiful. I will definitely come back.

I stopped off here for a drink and some snacks with my friends during a relaxed beach day. The The staff were friendly and courteous and served us promptly. The drink offering was more than acceptable and the fries were plentiful but slightly salty. It was a superb location to enjoy good company as the sun set over the beach and I would happily recommend for those wanting a quick snack and drink.
