Pastelaria Martinique Velha - Albufeira

We all had the tiramisu mousse cake. One of the best homemade mousse cakes we've ever eaten, exceptional taste and texture. Certainly the tastiest cake we ate all holiday. We suspect the chefs are highly trained and truly care about their produce. So many cafés sell the same cakes. This pastelaria is original, producing clever desserts many are lightweight and not loaded with sugar. (If only the UK could use less sugar! . It was the only pastelaria in the area, where the staff cheerfully explained what each dessert was. I'm not sure how other cafés expect everyone to know what things are, it only takes 20 seconds to answer! Often you receive pretty stroppy replies, or no descriptions at all........ Nova gerência Melhor serviço. Pastelaria tradicional portuguesa e variada. Servem pequenos almoços tradicionais e à inglesa Sopa e menus simples e completos (Refeições rápidas) Prego no pão ou no prato, e bifanas. Muito bom

Visited with family for an early evening meal on a first night in Albufeira and turned out to be a terrible decision my son ordered the paella and clearly said twice that he didn't want mussels it came out with two in it my daughter ordered the quiche which came out burnt and the chips were hard my husband ordered the American hot dog which came with sweetcorn raw onions and topped with all I can describe is thin pieces of crisps clearly not an American hot dog when I told the female member of staff she apologised and cleared out plates but when I went into pay the man behind the counter which I think was the owner did not accept my complaint and expected us to pay for food that was not good when I brought up again what was wrong with our meals he became very aggressive and rude pointing in my face and threatened to call the police if I didn't pay great first night out to our family holiday avoid the place plenty of other lovely places to have a family meal with friendly staff
