La Bettola Al Porto - ALBOSAGGIA

We found La Bettola on a hot July evening, acting on a tip from our super B&B host. Were we in for an unforgettable experience! A beautifully maintained old building with a spacious terrace, surrounded by huge old trees turned out to be the setting for one of the most magnificent feasts we had ever had one thoroughly infused with the Mediterranean atmosphere of joy and relaxation, even though we were in the heart of the Alps. The food was simply excellent and came in heaps. We had two wonderful salads and a cold platter of local specialties (finger licking good), a brilliant risotto, equally amazing gnocchi, and perfectly baked ribs. Everything accompanied by great bread and surprisingly (or rather unsurprisingly, since we’re talking about Italy) classy vino della casa. Every dish had a touch of genius about it. And then there was the staff. Our waitress was simply out of this world, with no exaggeration. So cheerful and naturally friendly we couldn’t keep ourselves from grinning and laughing like little kids. She made it very easy to bridge the language gap, and we ended up having an almost fluent conversation in a very creative mix of Italian, French and English. Thank you for that unforgettable experience we will come back as soon as we can!

The quality of the food on the menu is excellent. Cozy place. The interior is characteristic. Undoubtedly excellent local specialities. The wines offered are also very good. The service was definitely excellent.

Characteristic place.. outdoor tables with soft light.. really quality menu.. excellent tuna steak as well as the typical first courses from Valtellina.. to be returned

Ottima la qualita' dei cibi a menu'. Locale accogliente. Caratteristico l'interno. Specialita' del posto indubbiamente ottime. Molto buoni anche i vini proposti. Decisamente ottimo il servizio.
