Red Lobster Colonie - Albany

A table was ready for us when we arrived. I wish I could remember the waitresses' name--she was amazaing. Very attentive, check on us at just the right times, friendly. And, at the end of the evening, we learned it was her first night as a server! We would never have guessed that because the service she provided was excellent. The food was good, served hot. Everything exceeded our expectations--which were high.

The Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits are always great. The clam chowder was a disapointment (watery, with few clams). The shrimp trio was good; the breaded shrimp were the best, the Alfredo was so-so.

I gave it poor because we never got into the restaurant last night! We had made the reservation to celebrate our anniversary and drove to the restaurant since we got the confirmation that it was all set. Upon arriving, was a sign on the door saying it was closed due to a mechanical issue. Though I know it wasn't planned, there should be some system in place by them to alert customers that this has happened so that other plans could have been made. By the time we were there, it was the peak dinner hour and all local restaurants were obviously busy which meant we would have had to wait a while to get served. It ruined our night and we returned home to leftovers instead of the meal we had looked forward to enjoying. We have eaten at Red Lobster numerous times and it is a favorite for us but this was extremely disappointing!

This is a poor fit for Open Table. Preferred Reservation means nothing.

I was very disappointed.. the waiter did not bring us no silver ware.. we had salad and no fork or anything. I had to ask.. the food was not good very disappointed
