Caffe Vergnano 1882 Alassio

Candidly, this was the best cup of Caffe Vergnano that I have had. The problem is that I am not impressed with this coffee brand. As seems to be the case with other cafes offering this company 's product, there is brand advertising everywhere-from large awning signs, the logo on every cup, ashtray, water glass, etc. A company that has been around since 1882 suggests they have stood the test of time. Their napkins sport the endorsement (or is it the advertisement? of Eataly and Expo Milano 2015. But to me it is the Emperor 's New Clothes . The coffee is smooth, and of good quality, but painfully bland. I can think of 8-10 other coffee companies that make better coffee. The service here is congenial. The cafe spotless, and I will assume they offer nice sandwiches, pastries, etc. But it is all about the coffee. And the coffee is nothing to write home about.

In the center of alassio taken two coffee and a focaccia, really good! very kind and professional staff! I highly recommend! the room is also furnished with style and personality!

Our favourite coffee shop in Alassio. Very good attention from the staff, the owners Valentina and Davide work very hard to keep their clients happy and are lovely and always smiling. The coffee is great, tastes like a ‘liqueur”, the brand of coffee they have is the best available in town, one of the best brands in Italy, from which it takes its name, the taste is unique : you can't have a better coffee than this one in Alassio. When you have your coffee, they always give you a FREE small glass of water, (this is the Neapolitan custom), in order that you can have water first, and then you enjoy the true taste of coffee later. The place has been under a couple of new refurbishings and managements. Lately it has been expanded : at one side, it's is just a coffee shop where you can always have sandwiches and pastries and croissants...At the other side it is more like a nice resto-cafeteria where you can have a real meal... Located stategically in the very center of Alassio, a few steps away from the shopping area, the banks, the churches, the beach, the two major supermarkets and the schools, it is perfect for a nice aperitivo, a glass of prosecco before lunch or dinner, on the way back home, a quick, tasty breakfast or a light meal before hitting the beach A couple of times we invited for lunch some realitves who were visiting us.We ordered pasta dishes, chicken, cheese and cold cuts platter, with prosciutto and smoked salmon, and voilà : in few minutes everything was ready and served at our table. Perfect. All in all, it is a nice place with good sitting area and great wonderful staff. Prices were fair, I would say moderate, compared to similar hangouts in the Budello or on the beach, where they skyrocket around the summer season. Recommended
